Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records - Survey of California Physicians

The California HealthCare Foundation recently published a report on California physicians' experience with electronic health records (EHRs) in 2011. The report summarizes findings from a survey that a team of researchers at the University of California, San Francisco conducted in partnership with the Medical Board of California. The survey found that EHRs are used widely by California physicians, but many of their systems are not designed to meet new federal standards aimed at improving the quality of health care. Seventeen percent of California physicians are likely to be eligible for Medi-Cal incentive payments for meaningful use of EHRs. Many thanks to the physicians who participated in this survey.
